Four days of rain and cooler temps - - - 
a teasing preview of Autumn ? 

One can only dream/hope !

Summer Snapshot . . . . crepe myrtles

In the heat of the summer, crepe myrtle blooms

give us something to rest our eyes on --

( a pleasant relief from our burned-to-a-crisp lawns! )

 

 

Yes, they are very pretty --

but, still not enough to make me like Summer !

Summer Snapshot

I do not like Summer  -- or hot weather or days and days without even a hint of rain.

 

Which means I'm outside every evening -- watering and watering some more.

And, I'm rewarded -- with the a burst of tiger lily blooms.

 

 But, I still do not like Summer !!!

Water Dance . . . .

We might have had 14.8 inches of rain in May -

but here in mid June, it's already hot and dry.

 

Time for the sprinkler water-dance.

 

Twirling and throwing drops of water over thirsty plants

and filling the birdbath to the brim.

This little house might need a bit of work

 (the painters need a bit more experience - but, I love their flare with color)

Despite of all its flaws - - it's now home to a feathered family.

Who knew birds would actually nest in a 'bird house' !!

A beautiful box, tied with a spring green ribbon --

filled with just ripe pears & apples

Such a sweet way to celebrate Mother's Day

Brown paper bags and a list

Walking trails winding around a pond

Skipping children

Memories made.

Rain total for the month of May . . . . .  14.8 inches.

I think we've had more than enough . . . . .and, maybe the 'drought' is over here in Central Oklahoma.
