The 'plan' for pink

I love tulips - especially pink tulips.
Unfortunately, gophers love tulips too (any color - they aren't picky).
This next spring, I'm hoping to have tulips (pink ones) for the first time in 4 years.
I have a plan.

  1. Take one large clay pot, bury it 3/4 down in your soil.
  2. Fill pot with 2 inches of soil.  Plant bulbs.
  3. Cover with more soil and lots of mulch (on top and all around).
  4. Spread castor pellets all in flower bed and front lawn.
  5. Look forward to pretty pink tulips come spring.
Wish me luck !

Lucky Find . . . .

Found at the back of my closet ---- a box of almost finished knitting projects.
Four scarves that might just be perfect for Grand-daughters and hats that will most likely be my donation to this year's Mitten/Hat Tree at church.  And, other than some fringe to add to the scarves and a few ends to weave in on the hats - they are all pretty much ready to go.  Sometimes I surprise myself by being 'ahead of the game' -- and then I stop and think about what would have happened if I had not found this box until March 2012!

Note:  Please ignore the afghan squares in the lower right corner -- there's only two of them and to become an whole afghan -- 10 more are needed.

O' and by the way, these two were finished over a year ago.
Wonder which knitting bag that project is hiding in ??!!

Last of the summer reading

Finished as Summer gave way (finally) to Autumn.

All three books were 'good reads' -- all three were about love.
Old love, new love, surprising love, comforting love.
I didn't want any of the three to end -- and, that's one of the best recommendations I can make.

Now to work my way through the stack of books by my bed  -- and the 'to do' pile on sewing table --
and the WIPs in the knitting basket.

Quilt-tops and Monsters

There's been a lot of activity in my little sewing corner the past few weeks
and that makes me very happy.

Two twin quilts tops finished, delivered to my long-arm quilter
and picked up a week later --  all ready for their binding.

I discovered a love for 'monster construction'
googly eyes, fangs, and a pointy mane
so. much. fun. !!!

In his own words . . . .

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
